Which test path is right for you?
This is the best test to take if you are a senior and you don't have the time to take any Subject Area (SAT II) Tests.
Ok, maybe you really were very busy saving koalas in the outback, but it is SENIOR year and the apps are due! There just isn't time to study for an SAT, 2-3 Subject Area Tests, and the 5 AP courses! Relax- almost every school will be fine with an ACT instead of the SAT. Just be aware you have to take a Science section. Before you say, "UGH! Science!" come see us for a free practice test, and meet with our science instructors who will have you signing up as a Chem major before you can say Dichlorodiphenyl- trichloroethane! Well, even if you don't become a science major, we can help the Science section be stellar! |
If you really want to go old school - back to the 1600's...(we had to get a little "tutor humor" in there somewhere!) - the SAT doesn't have a Science section, and it is not as dreaded as it has been in recent memory. A lot about the test has changed, but the fundamental materials and methods have not.
If you do choose to take this test, make sure you give yourself enough of time to take the accompanying Subject Area tests which many top tier colleges require. |
If English is not your native language, be prepared to be asked to submit a test confirming your English language ability in addition to the SAT or ACT. Most colleges and universities will require the Tesol or Tefl exam, We have certified instructors who can prepare you for either.
